Statement

I see the world foremost through pattern and line. These elements pull me into an image, hold me in comfortable and sometimes engagingly uncomfortable positions. The forms of people become flattened, nestled and enclosed by pattern. They can be seen as trapped or protectively hidden.

At present, I am painting predominantly in enamels, frequently including product packaging, found photos, hair, fur, taxidermy, glass beads and odd ephemera to my work.  I am interested in altering the perception of what we associate with the past by immersing it into a new milieu.
